The Wildern Partnership SCITT started training teachers in 2014, offering high quality teacher training across Hampshire, building a reputation as a small SCITT with a big heart where trainees thrive. In 2023, The Wildern Partnership joined forces with the i2i Teaching Partnership as a Lead Partner to build upon their success and to strengthen the opportunities for potential teachers even further, reaching across Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester.

The Wildern Training Centre at Wildern School enjoys a dedicated space on the school campus, where trainees come together weekly during the training programme to learn the theory of teaching and benefit from the support and knowledge of the i2i and Wildern team and from each other.

Structure of the Training Centre

As an i2i Wildern Centre Trainee, each week you will spend one day at the Wildern training centre and four days in your placement school
(for the first six weeks of the programme you will spend 2 days a week at the training centre and 3 days in your placement school).

Your weekly Pedagogical and Professional Studies interactive sessions will teach you the theory of teaching (pedagogy), as well as develop your critical thinking, analytical and research skills, and are a great opportunity to build your support network with your fellow trainees.

From the very start of the programme you will be in your placement school making a difference. From shadowing and observing at the start to gradually taking responsibility for planning and delivering lessons, you will be implementing the theoretical knowledge taught during your weekly professional studies training days. Your main placement school is selected based on a number of factors, including most importantly where you live, and the availability of a suitable Mentor to support and guide you.

Hannah has been teaching across a variety of schools in Hampshire, London and Surrey for over 15 years. She began her teaching journey training at the Royal Academy of Dance before completing her Masters in Teaching and Learning whilst working as a Dance and Performing Arts teacher. Her MA focussed specifically on the learning motivations of boys in dance, something she has used across leadership and teaching to inform her practice and that of others. Hannah has worked in leadership for a number of years as assistant, deputy and Headteacher continuously being involved in the quality of teacher training across schools and wider Trusts.

Hannah believes that teaching is the most valuable profession where you can make a difference to young people’s lives both in and out of the classroom through passionate teaching and leadership. Hannah is delighted to be working with the team at i2i and passionate about training high quality teachers to inspire students and future generations in education.

As a Wildern Training Centre Trainee, you will also be fully supported by the i2i Administration Team.
